The area subject to intervention is a plot of land belonging to the common land of Tebilhão and Cando, called Vidoeiro, in the parish of Cabreiros, Arouca. The intervention area is a mountainous zone, mostly occupied by a stand of Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), and other plots with maritime pine and larch pine, but it is also possible to find birch trees along the watercourses as well as chestnut and oak trees distributed throughout the area.

The total area of Vidoeiro is approximately 45 hectares. Throughout the duration of the protocol, several interventions will be carried out aimed at protecting the forest area and improving the habitat. These interventions may include vegetation clearing, densification, planting, etc.
