The Iberian Wolf Habitat Conservation Fund, usually referred to as the "Wolf Fund", was created at the same time ACHLI was established. It is funded by contributions made from ACHLI’s members by virtue of the compensatory measures recommended within the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Incidence Assessment (AIncA) procedures for the installation of renewable energy power plants.
Managed by ACHLI and under the supervision of the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF), the Wolf Fund has the sole purpose of supporting projects focused on managing and preserving the Iberian wolf’s habitat.
All projects supported by the Wolf Fund consider the current state of the wolf packs in the areas where they are implemented and the local socio-economic environment, along with long-term planning, aspects that are often decisive for the success of these projects.
