The area subject to intervention is a vacant lot belonging to the Parish of Gave, Melgaço. The intervention area is a mountainous zone, mostly occupied by pine trees and various scrubland.

The total intervention area is approximately 44 hectares. A protocol was signed between the Gave Parish Council and ACHLI. Throughout the protocol's validity, various interventions will be carried out with the aim of protecting existing forest areas, as well as improving the overall habitat. Interventions may include fuel management, densification, afforestation, among others.
