The Iberian Wolf and the Star.

The book "The Iberian Wolf and Estrela" tells the story of Luís, a young shepherd born and raised in the mountains, in the middle of nature. Through his voice, we get to know the real-life wolf better, which he admires so much and, with the help of Estrela, a brave Estrela Mountain dog, he teaches how it is possible to coexist with this predator.

Developed by Grupo Lobo, in partnership with Betweien, and with the collaboration of the Portuguese Association of the Estrela Mountain Dog and the League of Breeders and Friends of the Estrela Mountain Dog. This book was supported in part by ACHLI - Iberian Wolf Habitat Conservation Association.

The Wolf Who Wasn't Bad.

Discover in this book "The Wolf Who Wasn't Evil" the true story about the wolf that no one ever told you. By deconstructing the key ideas present in one of the most popular children's tales whose villain is the wolf - Little Red Riding Hood - which formed, in the collective social imagination, a negative image of this species, this book shows, in a narrative driven by the intrinsic doubts and curiosity of a child, who the Iberian wolf really is, addressing several fundamental themes related to this iconic mammal.

This book was edited with the support of the Regional Directorate of Culture - North, ACHLI - Iberian Wolf Habitat Conservation Association and the municipalities of Bragança, Guarda, Miranda do Douro, Mogadouro, Montalegre and Vimioso.

Supporting Coexistence in the Iberian Wolf Habitat

This study deepens the existing knowledge about the multiple uses in areas where the wolf exists and the use of livestock guarding dogs, to respond to several challenges that currently face their use. It was conducted using a process of social consultation based on the study of human perceptions, opinions and practices related to the use of livestock guarding dogs, substantiated by in situ observations and data on dog movements and spatial interactions with other activities.
